Cornell University’s Friedman Center in Ithaca, N.Y., will host the final session of the 2015 USA Wrestling Greco-Roman World Team Trials on Thursday, June 4.

Eight weights will be decided in Ithaca and three of those weights include wrestlers from the Minnesota Training Center and Minnesota Storm.

Returning World bronze medalist Andy Bisek and two-time World team member Jordan Holm go into Ithaca holding a 1-0 advantage in the best-of-three series at 75kg and 85kg.

Bisek wrestled just over a minute last month in Las Vegas to best Dillon Cowan of the U.S. Army to take the 1-0 lead with an 11-0 technical fall. Bisek previously competed on U.S. World Teams in 2011, 2013 and 2014. He is also a two-time member of the U.S. Junior World Team.

Holm took a 1-0 lead on the Army’s Jonathan Anderson with a first-period technical fall. Holm looks to make his third straight U.S. World Team. He’s won two international tournaments since last year’s World Championship, taking gold at the Dave Schultz Memorial International and at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Pat Smith, wrestling at 71kg, is trailing the Army’s Justin “Harry” Lester 1-0 at 71kg. Lester topped Smith to make the World Team in 2014. Smith will have to win two straight matches to make his first U.S. World Team.

Wrestling begins at 8 p.m. Eastern on Thursday from the Friedman Center. Results can be found at www.trackwrestling.com and a live stream will be provided via Flowrestling.org as part of their FloPro subscription.
