Devin started wrestling when he was in kindergarten. His best friend received a flyer from a local wrestling club and they decided to check it out together. They showed up in regular tennis shoes and had a blast. Scott has been wrestling ever since.

“The sport really is the best sport. It teaches you so many things on and off the mat,” Scott said. He intends to be involved in wresting his whole life.

When his former high school coach told him he was not good enough to make the starting lineup for Apple Valley, Devin took it as a challenge. He enrolled in the school district, joined the prep wrestling program, and went on to win an individual state championship as a senior. Apple Valley’s team was also recognized as national champions that season.

“If there is time on the clock, I’m going to try to score points,” Scott says. He described his wrestling style as persistent and determined.

His family has supported him along the way and he is working for his dad as a mechanic off the mat.
