After winning a bronze medal in the Dave Schultz Memorial International tournament this past weekend, things are looking up for Storm freestyler, Kevin LeValley, to start the 2015 competition season. Born and raised in Eastern Colorado, LeValley began wrestling at the age of seven and immediately became immersed in the sport. Kevin attended Bucknell where he was a two-time All-American and is currently an assistant coach at the University of Minnesota.
When asked to describe LeValley, University of Minnesota wrestler Broc Berge stated, "He's energetic, fun to be around and easy to talk to. I've wrestled with him a bit and he scraps hard." Kevin also highly values his time outside of wrestling, especially time with his wife, Amanda, who he met in 2010 at JRob Intensive Wrestling Camp and married this past October. Kevin's pride in his wrestling, his family and his country are evident in his accomplishments he's had so far, and we can't wait to see the success he will have moving forward.
Check out our "Behind the Scenes" feature (above) with Kevin where we catch up with Kevin training at the University of Minnesota, and at home with his wife, Amanda. LeValley will compete with the rest of the freestyle team, including Zach Sanders (57 kg), Bebeto Yaweh (65 kg), Dustin Schlatter (71 kg), and Tony Nelson (125 kg) at the Granma Cup y Cerro Pelado in Havana, Cuba, February 13-14.
